After pulling lots of flannel from my stash, mostly leftovers from past projects. Some from 15 years ago. I started piecing around the center panel. First thing I found out was there is a really, really big difference in the quality of flannel fabric from then to now. The older stuff likes to stretch a lot. It stretches just by looking at it! I was really glad to be working with big pieces. Time to simplify the outer border design. I decided to keep the trees as is, so I was very careful with my cutting & piecing. They were a little wonky but not to bad. They took me as long to piece as the rest of the top. Not everything is perfect but Joey won't mind. Now it's off the be quilted!! As for the rest of the scraps, I think it's time to make another Rag Time quilt & use it up...

That's a great setting for a panel--can't beat EQ for helping figure out layouts.
Wow, you did a great job on your quilt. I've only worked with flannels once, and you're right they're a little stretchy. They're wonderfully warm though, and I'd do another, but no triangles! I like the border in the EQ6 picture, but I can see why you didn't do it in flannel!
